八月間，加拿大多數主要城市的房價下跌，使多倫多、溫哥華及蒙特婁等13個城市中有10個地區的房屋負擔能力獲得改善。多倫多所需購屋收入降幅最大；但哈利法克斯、渥太華及弗雷德里克頓因房價上升，負擔能力反而惡化。固定房貸利率上升，目前五年期固定最低利率為4.24%，而浮動利率則維持在4%以下。在利率波動下，建議有意購屋者提前鎖定利率。
